May 5th, 2008 by tomcatuk
Finally got the Cappuchino race licked and now have all golds for the C series. B series all gold with the exception on the Mitsubushi Evolution IX Eiger Nordwand time trial. Have managed a Silver, but trying to get that elusive Gold!

Hi tomcatuk!
Congrats on beating the game! I don’t know if you’re reading this, but I need some help. I bought the game a long time ago, and I’m playin it (I have a lot of races left.. ) Of course I want to win all races gold, but I’m having a lot of problems with the C-3 Race.. My best time was about 1:40.432 or something like this. I’m so frustrated… Can you give me some advice to that race?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Andras,
thanks for visiting! As it happens I was going over this race again last night (believe it or not one of my children wiped all the game saves from my PS3 - gold medals all lost!).
C-3 in the Cappuchino is tricky but you are certainly very close. Here’s all I can tell you (some of it maybe a bit too obvious).
1. Traction control set to zero.
2. I made it on manual transmission.
3. The key (as I see it) is the final bend on the lap prior to the one you want to get the elusive gold time on. Take it wide to keep your speed up as you exit it. You want to aim to cross the line at the beginning of your next lap at 100mph. I’m going to post a video of this one in the next day or so.
Good luck!
PS - if you found C-3 frustrating, wait till you try and gold B-3

Great! Thank you very much for the advice, I forgot to write that I tried it with manual transmission too, but I didn’t knew that I have to set the traction control to zero. (So the driving aids just slow you down? lol )
I thought that without a wheel it’s going to be impossible to do this kind of races. But when I saw that you made it with a controller I was just like… wow
I’ll try it and see what happens.

I’ve done it!:D

Yup - driving aids definately slow the cars down. In “C” class races you definately don’t need them anyway. I do use a small amount of traction control with the GT LM II Test Car though in “S” Class and online - it’s a beast to control without it.
Well done on getting the gold
